OK, the trademark document is just one straw on the camel's back but it does suspiciously suggest the reality of this Mandela Effect. The mechanism is a mystery but it is not impossible. It's possible two timelines split from there and people like Oversword have seen glimpses of the alternate one. I remember him being near death in prison but he never died. The glimpse into an alternative timeline is simply fantasy. It was clear it wasn't a song about a martyr. The first time I heard Freedom Now was live when I went to a Tracy Chapman concert with workmates. So, there were obviously people that took a more direct interest in seeing Apartheid end, rather than seeeing it as the cause of a boycott. Passing the ZA embassy in Canberra you would see it was "special" as it had extra guard boxes manned by APS. I'm giving you the experience of an Aussie teenager in the 80s who had a keen interest in cricket and rugby. Your musing that only people with a direct connection to ZA didn't experience the ME is just silly. Her interests clearly didn't overlap with what unfolded in ZA in the late 80s and early nineties. I'm pointing out she missed all of the events Mandela was involved tor twenty years. ![]() She is ignorant of all the coverage he received. If Fiona Broome thinks Mandela died in the 80s, she is ignorant. Doesn't mean they couldn't have had glimpses of alternate timelines where things are quite different. ![]() Nobody disagrees on what the current version of history is. Wow, sorry but that post really highlights you don't understand.
